Really welcoming staff behind the bar, the place was rammed which was a really good sign. We had a table booked which was ready on time and food came out ok. The only thing letting it down was one of the chefs, he had a beard with no net, he kept wiping his hands on his whites which he was also wiping the sweat from his head on. If hygiene picked up a little, my rating would be higher.

Excellent food! The pies are highly recommended - a deal of 1 pie meal and another at a reduced cost is offered on a Tuesday evening. Excellent value that is. And the pies are very good - not sure they're better at any other place...
Absolute top draw food. Had the venison pie. Very rich and not stindgy on the meat. Mash had more butter than potatoes.....which I love. The Mrs had the specials sea bass, lots of flavour and maximum effort. I duff my cap. But try to get in the restaurant area as the pub really is a pub. Nice and friendly staff. Loved it.
What a lovely pub. Visited for the latest vegan night. A fantastic night with a great choice of gins on offer. The food was beautiful, friendly staff and busy as always. Highly recommend one of their themed nights.
