As one of the very few electronics shops left open in Derbyshire they have tons on stock with just about everything you need and if not they can get it. All the staff are very helpful and have a ton of knowledge.
There are a couple of bits of the JPG website which are grossly misleading, and you can waste a lot of time if you believe them: we dispatch Worldwide.Need assistance or more information? email (deleted) we're here to help.My experience with JPG is that they do neither of these things, and have wasted a lot of my time with me trying to have a dialogue with them.I wanted to purchase 10 watt LED floodlights, and have been trying now for two weeks to hear from JPG if they can send them by Royal Mail to Africa.I e-mailed to JPG sales on 08-Dec asking about sending the lights to me. Next day, Tim responded thus:these will be very expensive to post to you, it is looking around 25 to 30 per light.A visit to the Royal Mail website shows that when you put in the assumed weight, value, and destination country then Tims quotation is nonsense. I knew this anyway, because I had ordered two lights from Component Shop (CS) along with a charger and paid 17 postage for tracked airmail for the lot. I sent to sales proof of this with a copy of the e-mail from CS confirming my order.I also sent a link to Bitsbox in Solihul showing their very competitive rates from Royal Mail (9 max) for airmail parcels up to 2 kg.A week later, on 16-Dec, after hearing nothing back from JPG I wrote again asking if they were going to accept an order from me. Again I have heard nothing, and now post this review on 23-Dec to warn others that JPG do not despatch worldwide.I should point out here that I know that my e-mails to JPG have left my computer, gone out on the internet to Gmail, and seen the BCCs sent back to my hotmail account.I should have been wary of JPG when I was setting up my account because the ONLY country which is accepted as a mailing or billing address is the UK.I also know now that JPG will not respond to an enquiry sent through their website asking for a little bit more information on their products. I asked on 08-Dec about some inverters, and to date have not seen any response from them.(Edited 2 days after posting to remove stuff blocking this from public view)
Good place to nip in for circuitry components, not sure what other items are in stock. Parking is a bit tight, best to park on main road and walk around. Bought a 20pc strip of carbon foil resistors for 78p.
