Old theatre upgraded for modern times. I saw the film "Young Picasso" here. I hope the lack of people in attendance is due to me going on a weekday.I recommend visiting on a day off from work when the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. It is great to watch a film about a Young Picasso with a bunch of elderly people but it would be nice to have seen some budding artists in the crowd. Come along and bring your kids!
Lovely little theatre. Very comfy, and all seats have a great view of the stage. I was sat in an officially restricted view seat, though it was a very minor restriction. Leg room was a little tight, though it was front row of the circle. Other seats looked better, and there are significantly worse theatres out there leg room wise. Technically well equipped too, and the show we went to see was excellent fun. Great to see a proper theatre alive like this!
Took my little boy to see Cinderella last night Really enjoyed ourselves. I've not been to the Theatre in years so was a real treat. It's a lovely little theatre and the staff are very helpful.
Went to the showing of the cinderella pantomime today for my birthday with my step parent, my daughter, niece, nephew, friend and her daughter. Although it was really busy there was no hassle in getting to our seats. We were through the door and seated within minutes. We were on the upper part so we had a really good view. Definitely my preferred place to sit, especially when having young children with us.There were booster seats available for the smaller children which was perfect for my 4yr old nephew. It was clean and well maintained. The seats weren't too close to each other although I was in an end seat with my daughter next to me so I didn't have the awkwardness you sometimes get when seated next to strangers! The only downside was the limited amount of legal room. I'm only short but I found the space limited and difficult to cope with after being sat for a long time. We could see perfectly well where we were sat and we could also hear everything just fine. From my experience today I can't think of anything negative to say about it. We had a lovely time with no issues whatsoever. And bonus, it was a 3D panto! That was a new experience for me, I enjoyed it but the kids absolutely LOVED it!!
The theatre is a lovely building and is atmospheric with it's original layout. The seats are quite tightly packed so an end seat is best if you have long legs. The staff at the theatre are all friendly and helpful. We were unable to make our original booking due to illness but were given the option to change our tickets although there is a charge for the facility. The manager dealt with this very promptly and we thoroughly enjoyed the performance with our 3 grandchildren aged 7,8 and 10.
