Why go to just a number bank when you can have a bank that still cares about you.
My partner applied for a Co-op current-account on-line and was informed the application was approved. However, when we went to the Chesterfield branch to provide identity documents, we were informed that the application had been declined and were given no reason. Our issue wasn't with this per se, but with the surly and arrogant manner of the middle-aged lady who dealt with our enquiry, demonstrating no customer service skills whatsoever. We went around the corner to Barclays and were able to open a current account there, no problem!
I recently lost my partner very suddenly at the age of 53, and it would have been his birthday today, 22 May. I went into the branch office at Chesterfield to register his death and I was told I would need to make an appointment. I appreciate that fact, but the lack of consideration shown by the staff was deplorable. Not one sign of professionalism or empathy was shown. I am utterly disgusted and would never recommend this Bank, which is disappointing in view of the fact that I shop regularly at the Co-op store on Elder Way
