Booked a 4x4 vehicle through these cowboys 8 days in advanced to be told 2 days prior to pickup that it wasn't available. Good job I called them before otherwise I would have gone on the pickup day which would of been a pure waste of time. Avoid like the plague
Requested a van had an email to say it was a requested but no other emails went down to collect to be told very abruptly that I dont have a van hired out that it was just a request well where was the email stating this as I would have had time to find a van elsewhere thanks Thrifty really needed the van this weekend people just be warned that they have very bad customer service terrible
I have been renting cars from them and they give some of the best value for money options. Free upgrades always boost up and staff is very friendly at Thrifty Chesterfield. I'm going to come for more rental.
Booked and hired a van from this company, what a joke. Ordered a short wheel transit type van. When I went to collect they kept me waiting half and hour for the paperwork to be completed, then brought out the van, which was a long wheeled base van, I explained to them that it was too large to carry out the work I intended to do, as I also had to deposit household rubbish to the local tip, and they won't accept a long wheeled base van, (as they are classed its as commercial trading vehicle), and said that I want to cancel van. But they said they had a short wheel base, but it would take 10 minutes to wash, 45 minutes later received van, now running nearly 2 hours late, as being a Friday van had to be back by 10am next day, so wanted to carry out all collections & deliveries on the same day, so that it could be returned on the Friday.Managed to do this. (Just). As I was trying to get van back before they closed, I forgot to refill diesel, the guy as Thrifty said its only 70 miles I've drove, and would be in the region of 10 - 15, and as they had messed me about with the van they would give me some concession on the price of filling. BUT when I received my Visa payment receipt they had stopped over 97 pounds. Total Ripoff They also operate a scam where they charge you extra 14 for insurance per day to cover any damage, or you have to pay 1,250 if there is any minor damage, but once you pay this fee, you are still liable for the first 250 of any claim, so they have you over a barrel.Personally I would never use this firm again, and would give them NIL STARS if I could
