Awesome company. We bought a Kingsize slatbed over 10 years ago and it's still as good as new. Wish there were more quality traditional furniture companies like H&F in the UK
Recently took delivery of a kitchen table from this company. The build quality and appearance of the table is not in doubt, it's well made and looks good. What irritated me, however, was the fact that they had written our family name on the item in permanent marker pen for delivery purposes. Granted, it's on the underside of the table so you cannot see it (and on the underside of the extension leaf too), but this struck me as utterly unnecessary. After referring to the table as hand painted, handmade and hand finished on their web site, to then sully it with marker pen seemed sheer madness, shameless disrespect of the craft work that had gone into its creation. If I was the crafts person who had worked on this table and I saw what some oaf had done with a pen just to identify it from other orders, Id be spitting teeth. This lent me to think that the company is a slightly shabby, two-bit operation. It's utterly scandalous that they can do this to an item that a customer has paid almost 420 for. and consider it fair game. Doubly frustrating was that when I contacted them about it they were utterly unrepentant, describing writing on the furniture in this way as the "only method" they could think of to identify it for delivery. Clearly the likes of laminated card, string, sticky tape and poly pockets have not yet reached the wilds of Chesterfield. I found their lack of acceptance that they had essentially soiled a product we had paid such a lot of money for to be breathtaking in its arrogance. If it was me who had paid rather than my wife, I would have demanded a refund out of principle. As such, therefore, I would strongly recommend that unless you can pick a furniture item up from them in person, avoid this company at all costs or risk your delivery being scrawled on.Unfortunately, due to the nature of Google reviews, I have to give them one star in order to make the posting, but in reality I would give them 4 stars for the table manufacture, and minus 4 stars for their delivery and post-sales customer service, averaging out at zero stars. In summary then, do not use.
Nice cafe, very pleasant friendly staff
We recently took delivery of a triple wardrobe, dressing table and tv cabinet and they are all fabulous. We are very pleased with all of them. They are exceedingly well built and look beautiful. I would definitely recommend the Company and its products and we hope to shop there again soon. The staff were also really helpful.
So impressed with H & F. The finished items are beautiful and of a high quality. I was updated throughout the making of our furniture. I would have no hesitation of recommending H&F to all. Thank you all very much.
